Explosion at Rupganj house, 2 hurt

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: At least two people were injured in an explosion at a two storied building in Barab area under Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district on early Friday.

The injured are identified as Ibrahim and Aynal. They were sent to burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Sources said that the explosion took place in a building named 'Comilla House' around 3:00am on Friday. After the blast, police cordoned the house. One side of the roof and a wall of the building collapsed after the explosion. Police is interrogating the owner of the house and care taker following the incident.

Faruk Hossain, additional police super of the District Special Branch said that following the huge explosion, window glasses of adjacent building had broken.

Rupganj police station Officer-in-Charge Ismail Hossain said, a team of police rushed to the spot. Later, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel visited the area.
