Fair polls not possible under partisan government: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed

Senior Correspondent: Claiming that holding free and fair elections under a partisan government is not possible, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said his party will continue the democratic movement for a free and fair election.

The government is going to hold another January 5 election. For this election commission chief has been made a person loyal to the ruling party, the BNP leader alleged.

The BNP leader made the comment while speaking at a doa mahfil at the party's Naya Paltan office in the capital on Wednesday noon.

Rizvi said, “Next election will be held under a neutral government, not under Sheikh Hasina. That election would be free of fear, panic and terror. Voters can cast their votes out of fear.”

BNP will continue their ongoing movement for a free and fair election in a bid to establish democracy in the country, Rizvi stressed.
