Fakhrul visits hospital to meet Hefajat ameer Shafi

Senior Correspondent: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met Hefajat-e Islam ameer Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi at a hospital in the capital on Thursday.

The BNP leader visited Asgar Ali Hospital (AAH) in the capital’s Dhopkhola area around 1:30pm to meet the ailing Hefajat leader.

During the visit, Fakhrul inquired about the physical condition of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi who is now undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.

The 95-year old had been undergoing treatment at Chittagong CSCR Hospital for old-age complications including high blood pressure, diabetes and breathing problem and later shifted to its intensive care unit (ICU).

On June 6, he was taken to Dhaka by a helicopter as per the advice of the physicians as his condition was not improving.

Besides, Shafi is being fed through pipe for the last 20 days.
