Families of plane crash deceased to get $50,000 in compensation

Senior Correspondent: The families of those killed in the tragic plane crash of US-Bangla airlines in Nepal will get at least $50,000 (Tk 40,00,000) each as compensation, says Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal.
He said, “According to the Warsaw Convention, each family of the deceased will receive an approximately $50,000 from the insurance company after some legal steps are taken.”
The Minister said this in a press conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
“Those were injured in the crash will be compensated according to their medical bills. The compensation amount for them will differ between victims depending on their number of days for treatment,” he added.
The civil aviation and tourism minister instructed lawyers versed in civil aviation law to assist families of the deceased in getting compensation.
