Ferry capsized with vehicles in Pirojpur river

Staff Correspondent, Barisal: A passenger bus and two trucks went under water when a ferry capsized in Kacha river of Pirojpur district.

Sources said that the vehicles carrying ferry sank after a sand carrying vessel collided with the only ferry plying on the Bekutia-Kumirmara route of Barisal-Pirojpur-Khulna on Tuesday night. 

However, no causalities were reported after the incident.

Kawkhali police station officer-in-charge (OC) Monirul Ahsan said that fire service, civil defense, police, coast guards are working to recover the vehicles.
