Files sent to Singapore, Nusrat to be sent on health condition

Staff Correspondent: Medical files of Feni arson victim madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi has been to Singaore a pre-preparation for sending her there for advanced treatment.

Dr Samanta Lal Sen, co-ordinator of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) burn unit, confirmed this.

Meanwhile, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said, “Nusrat will be sent to Singapore on health condition.”

The minister said this on Monday evening after visiting Nusrat at DMCH.

He further said, “I have visited her and talked to her family members. Prime Minister is very cordial for her advance treatment. She will be sent to Singapore considering the health condition.”

Dr Samanta Lal Sen said, “All medical files of Nusrat were sent to Singapore on PM’s directives. Doctors of Singapore will give us directives for further steps we should take.”

On April 6 around 9:30am, four unidentified people took Nusrat to the roof top of the three-storey administrative building of the madrasa and set her on fire, leaving 80 percent of her body seriously burnt.

Firstly, she was taken to Sonagazi Health Complex. Later, she was referred to Feni Sadar Hospital. From there, she shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as her health condition deteriorated. She was put on life support on Monday.
