Finger injury throws Shakib out of play for two weeks

Sports Desk: In the midst of the final of Rocket tri-nation series- 2018, Bangladesh have had to endure an unfortunate news of losing undoubtedly the best performer of the team all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for a time span of around two weeks.

The blow that he got in the 41st over of the Sri Lankan innings, caused tearing in his left finger, ensured by physicians from Apollo Hospital after thorough diagnosis.

The injury, therefore, might prevent him from field action up to two long weeks. Shakib did not field for rest of the overs after he got hurt.

This is yet to be known whether Shakib Al Hasan would bat in the ongoing final match of the tri-nation series against Sri Lanka or not.

The misfortune would probably force the star all-rounder to miss the first Test against Sri Lanka as well which will begin right after the completion of the tri-nation series.

Sri Lanka opted to bat first after winning the toss and ended scoring a competitive total of 221 runs in their innings in a slow, low track at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka today.

The home team, therefore, started their innings losing early important wickets that of Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Mithun. Bangladesh at the moment, scored 17 for the loss of 2 wickets.

Mushfiqur Rahim has come to bat at number three in place of injured Shakib Al Hasan.
