Fire at 40 points in forest caused losses worth Tk 70 lakh

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: The recent fire at 40 points in Cox's Bazar has damaged forest resources worth over Tk 70 lakh, says Forest Department.

Following the fire incident a general diary (GD) was also filed with Teknaf police station.

However, the authority concerned could not identify the culprits behind the fire.

Sazzad Hossain, Teknaf bit officer of Cox's Bazar South Forest Department, confirmed the matter on Friday afternoon.

Earlier, Teknaf Police Station officer-in-charge Ranjit Kumar Barua said, "The forest department filed a GD over the fire incident."

On the other hand, Cox's Bazar south forest department chief Ali Kabir, Teknaf UNO, OC and other high officials visited the spot.
