Fire at Gazipur Jhut godown

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A fire broke out at three Jhut (scrap fabrics from garment factories) godown in Kaliakoir of Gazipur city on Friday morning.

Fire service and local sources said that the fire originated from a Jhut godown named Solaiman Mollah in Pallibidut area around 9:30am. Later, the fire spread to the adjacent two Jhut godowns instantly. 

On information, three fire units from Kaliakoir and Savar EPZ stations rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after one and half hours efforts.

Kabirul Islam, station officer of Kaliakoir fire station confirmed the matter.
