Fire at Tongi cotton factory

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A fire had broken out at a cotton processing factory in Cheragali market area in Tongi, Gazipur.
On information, four fire unites rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after three and half hours efforts.
Md Atikur Rahman, Senior Station Officer on Tongi Fire Station said the fire broke out in the factory around 10:00pm on Sunday. Basically, Jhuts were used to make artificial cotton in the factory. Later, fire fighters brought the fire under control at 1:30am on Monday.
Jhuts, cotton, machineries and other items were destroyed in the fire, he added.
