First meeting of EC search body to be held Saturday

Staff Correspondent: Members of the search committee, formed by President Abdul Hamid to constitute the next Election Commission, will hold its first meeting on Saturday (January 28).

The meeting would be held at Supreme Court Judges’ lounge.

A secretary of the cabinet confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.

On Wednesday, the cabinet division issued a gazette notification disclosing names of a six-member search committee to reconstitute the next Election Commission (EC).

Earlier, President Abdul Hamid formed the six-member search committee after holding a series of talks with 31 registered political parties on formation of the next Election Commission.
