First phase of Biswa Ijtema ends

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: The first phase of Biswa Ijtema, the second largest Muslim congregation after the Hajj, ended in Tongi of Gazipur with Akheri Munajat seeking spiritual well-being and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

Hafez Mohammad Zubayer Akheri, the Imam of Kakrail Mosque in Dhaka conducted the Akheri Munajat which began at 10:40am on Sunday.



Earlier in the morning, Mawlana Abdul Matin delivered a sermon on the importance of Islam based on the Quran and Hadith.

Thousands of devotees have attended the congregation. Besides, innumerable foreign devotees from many countries joined the first phase of the Ijtema.



The second phase of Ijtema will be held on 19-21 January.
