Five get life term for killing

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has sentenced five people to life term imprisonment for killing a man named Iman Ali Fakir in 2006.

Fifth Additional District and Sessions Judge Pradip Kumar Roy passed the order on Tuesday.

The court also fined them Tk. 20,000. In default, the convicts have to suffer one year more in prison.

The convicts are- Rubel, Mosharraf Hossain alias Mosha, Ariful Islam alias Noyon, Jahir, Mohiuddin alias Mohin.

According to the case statement, On March 14, 2006, the convicts attacked the victim Iman Ali with lethal weapon, leaving him critically injured. Later, locals rushed him to Dohar Upazila Health Complex and shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). But, he died on the way of DMCH.

Following the incident, victim's son Muksidul filed a murder case with Dohar police station.
