Flight operation resumes at Dhaka airport after 2 hrs

Staff Correspondent: Flight operation at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport resumed around 2:33pm on Tuesday, two hours after it was disrupted due to the right wheel of a Thai Airways (TG 321) plane blasted while landing in the airport.

Rezaul Karim, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, confirmed the news to risingbd.

He said, “The plane (TG 321) of Thai Airways from Bangkok was supposed to land at Shahjalal Airport at 12:10pm, but it touched down the airport at 12:18pm. The right wheel of the aircraft veered off the runway for a while but was steered back on the track instantly, leaving all the tyres of its blasted. The skidding caused muds and grasses spoiling parts of the runway, forcing the civil aviation authority to shut down the flight operation for a while.”
