'Form commission to probe Bangabandhu murder'

Staff Correspondent: Dr. A A M S Arefin Siddique, Vice Chancellor (VC), Dhaka University urged the government to form a commission to uncover mystery over the murder of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The VC made the call while addressing a discussion on the occasion of National Mourning Day at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium in the Dhaka on Tuesday.

He said, "There were national and international conspiracies behind Bangabandhu murder. Details information over the conspiracy should be included in our national history."

Terming the day (August 15, 2017) as cursed day, he said that Bangabandhu was scheduled to visit Dhaka University on that day. But, the bullets of killers took the life of him.

Mentioning several characteristics of Bangabandhu, Arefin Siddique said, he was honest, liberal, patriotic and brave leader. He struggled for the development of the common people.

"He had no fear of death, jail oppression. We are proud that we had got a leader like him," he added.
