Former AL lawmaker Tipu Sultan dies

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: Former Awami League lawmaker of Jessore-5 Khan Tipu Sultan has died of brain haemorrhage. He was 67.
He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the capital's Central Hospital around 9:30pm on Saturday.
His son Sadab Humayun Sultan confirmed the news.
He was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday last. On the following day, he was shifted to the coronary care unit (CCU) of the hospital.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock as his departure and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Khan Tipu Sultan became MP from Jessore-5 (Monirampur) for three times.
He left his wife, two sons, a host of political activists, relatives, admirers and well-wishers to mourn his death.
