Four robbers detained in Gazipur

Gazipur Correspondent: Police detained four members of an inter-district robber gang from Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur on Thursday noon.

The detainees are- Jakir Hossain, 35, Alamin Hossain, 25, Mamun Majhi, 25 and Abdus Sattar Majhi, 28.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kaliganj Police Station Mohammad Alam Chand said that 14/15-member robber gang entered into the residence of Saudi Expatriate Nurul Islam in Dakkhinbagh village of the upazila around 3:00pm on Wednesday and looted valuable goods worth Tk4 lakh.

Later, police conducted a drive in the village on Thursday and detained the four robbers.

The detainees were produced before the court, OC added.
