Four women raped in Ctg: Police admit failure

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Police admitted that they had failed to take immediate steps over the raping four women by robbers in a house at Karnaphuli upazila in Chittagong.

Harun-or Rashid Hazari, deputy commissioner (North) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police formally admitted the failure through a press conference on Monday noon.

Hazari said there is no way to deny that police forces failed partially to respond quickly over the rapping incident on that night. They had to put importance following the sensitive incident.

Following issue, police commissioner will be informed to take action against Karnaphuli police station OC. Later, police commissioner will take action.

On December 12, a group of robbers barged into a house under Karnaphuli police station area. They raped four women of a family there and fled with money and gold jewellery. Police took time to file case in this regard. Later, police filed the case after one week following intervene of State Minister for Land Alhaj Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed MP.
