From ramp model to militant

Staff Correspondent: Rapid Action Battalion claimed arrest of a suspected militant of "Sarwar-Tamim Group" of the Neo-JMB, who they say converted to the outfit from ramp modeling.

The Arrestee Imam Mehedi Hasan alias Abu Jibril, 29, son of Khorshed Alam of Razapur village under Potuakhali's Baufol Police Station, was trying to regroup the organisation, according to RAB.

Lt. Col. Tuhin Mohammad Masud, captain of RAB-3, said this at a press briefing at the media centre in the capital's Kawran Bazar on Thursday.

He said, "Mehedi was arrested from Banasree area on Wednesday night. Law enforcers also seized two laptops, a mobile phone set, a passport and some extremists books from his possession.

He is an accused of Banani and Uttara west police station, he added.
