GD filed over fire incident at forest near Rohingya camps

Cox's Bazar Correspondent: The forest department filed a general diary (GD) with Teknaf police station over the fire incident at 40 points of a reserved forest near Rohingya camps at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.

Sazzad Hossain, Range Officer of Forest department filed the GD around 12:00pm on Friday.

Teknaf Police Station officer-in-charge Ranjit Kumar Barua said, "The forest department filed a GD over the fire incident. However, the forest officials could not identify the culprits behind the fire. Investigation is underway in this regard."

Earlier, as many as 40 points of 28-acre reserved forest had caught fire. Later, the blaze was doused after four and half hours effort.
