‘Gathering before BNP office not violation of code of conduct’

Staff Correspondent: Election Commissioner Rafiqul Islam said the people who are gathering in front of BNP party office in the capital to collect and submit nomination papers are not violating the electoral code of conduct.

The election commissioner told this to reporters at his office at the Nirbachon Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon on Tuesday.

"That the people are gathering in front of BNP party office in the capital to collect and submit nomination papers is not a violation of electoral code of conduct. Because, it is very simple to get gathered at a place to collect and submit nomination papers," he said.

It should not be right to term the gathering a violation of electoral code of conduct, he added.
