Girl gang-raped in capital, 4 held

Staff Correspondent: A girl was allegedly gang-raped at Moghbazar Wireless Gate in the capital after she was invited in name of performing in a dance party.

The victim has filed a case with Ramna Police Station in this regard. Police have arrested four suspects following the case.

The arrestees are Nazmul Hasan Imon, Shariful Islam, Ekramul Hasan and Ashikur Rahman.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Ramna zone Deputy Commissioner Maruf Hossain told risingbd.com that police have launched an investigation in the case. The arrestees will be interrogated after placing them on remand. The victim has been sent to hospital for medical test.

According to the case statement, the girl lives at Mugda area in the capital. She was invited for performing in a dance party and taken to a residence of Moghbazar Wireless Gate area yesterday night. The accused gang-raped her after she was confined to a room of the second floor of the residence.
