‘Govt agreed to reform quota at reasonable level’

Senior Correspondent: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said the government has agreed to reform the existing quota system at a reasonable level.
The government will make the reasonable reformation in the existing quota system but it needs time, he said.
The minister came up with the remarks while talking to journalists after a meeting with a 20-member delegation of the students who are continuing their demonstration to press home the demand of reforming the existing quota system in civil service.
In the meeting, a decision was taken to postpone the demonstration for one month.
Earlier around 2:30pm, a 20-member delegation of the agitating students walked into the Bangladesh Secretariat to hold a meeting with Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.
The meeting was held at the secretariat office of the road transport and bridges minister around 4:30pm.
