Govt launching nuclear power wings in Russia, Austria

K M A Hasnat: The government has taken a decision to launch a nuclear power wing at Bangladesh High Commissions in Mosco, Russia and Vienna of Austria each.

The wings are being opened to set up Rooppur nuclear power plant properly and to lead its further activities smoothly.

The Foreign Ministry has sought an allotment of Tk 9.27 crore for this, according to sources.

The sources said, “A nuclear attache will be appointed soon in the two high commissions each. The attache lead the wing which will play role to make different deals and to hold discussions with the government concerned.”

Finance Ministry sources said, “Activities of setting up the country’s first nuclear plant is running fast. A gazette has already been published to appoint officials and officers at Bangladesh High Commissions in Mosco, Russia and Vienna in Austria. But there is no budget to pay salary and allowances for the employees.”
