Govt plans for 2nd Padma Bridge on Aricha-Daulatdia point

Staff Correspondent, From the Parliament: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the government has a plan to construct second Padma Bridge on Aricha-Daulatdia point.

The minister came up with disclosure while replying to a query of written question of Feni-1 lawmaker Begum Shirin Akhter in the Parliament session on Thursday.

Quader said, "The primary step in this regard has already been taken as the Planning Commission approved the Preliminary Development Project Proforma (PDPP) in principle. To construct the bridge, the government has sought financial assistance from the development partners organisations.  No response has yet been found. However, effective steps will be taken in this regard after the first Padma Bridge construction ended."
