Gulshan’s DNCC market fire under control

Staff Correspondent: The fire broke out at the kitchen market near DNCC market at Gulshan-1 in the city has been brought under control.

The fire originated at the tin-shed kitchen market around 5:30am. Then, the fire engulfed the third floor of the adjacent Gulshan market.

Twenty firefighting units brought the blaze under control around 8:25am, sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defence said.

The reason behind the fire is still unknown.

The fire at the DNCC market comes just two days after the fire at Banani FR tower that claimed the lives of 25 people and left aroud 100 injured.
