HC dissatisfied at ACC

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has expressed discontent at the Anti Corruption Commission as it keeps a case pending year after year.

The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Shahidul Karim expressed the discontent at the ACC on Tuesday afternoon.

Aiming ACC lawyer, the court said that information regarding the case could be sought in 2010. But, ACC sought it seven years later.

Barrister Moinul Hossain moved for Justice Zainul Abedin while Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan stood for ACC in the case.

Earlier on October 9, the High Court issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain as to why the Supreme Court administration’s letter seeking to stop investigation into corruption allegation against former Appellate Division judge Justice Md Zainul Abedin should not be declared illegal.

On July 18, 2010, ACC sent a notice to Justice Zainul Abedin asking him to submit his wealth statement to the national anti-graft body.
