HC issues rule over giving birth to child on road

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has issued a rule asking the authorities concerned as to why punitive measures should not be taken against those are responsible over the incident of  a female's giving birth to a child on road who died later.

The court also ordered director of Salimullah Medical College and Hospital and superintendent of Azimpur Matri Sadan to submit reports after investigating into the matter.

The HC bench of Justice Kazi Rezaul Haque and Justice Mohammad Ullah came up with the suo moto rule following the reports published in different newspapers over the incident on Thursday.

Health Secretary, Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Social Welfare Secretary were asked to reply to rule.
