HC issues rule over primary teachers’ salary scale

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has issued a rule asking the authorities concerned as to why primary teachers should not be qualified for 10th grade salary scale, after announcing the current 11th grade as illegal.

The bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed came up with the rule on Tuesday.

The court also asked eight officials concerned including secretary to Primary and Mass-Education Ministry, Director General (DG) of Primary Education Directorate and Director General of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Department to reply to the rule by four weeks.

Advocate Mohammad Siddique Ullah moved for the writ petition while Deputy Attorney General Md Mokhlesur Rahman represented the state in the court.
