HC orders to provide division to Barrister Mainul

Staff Correspondent: The High Court has directed the authorities concerned to provide division facility to Barrister Mainul Hosein in jail.

The High Court bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order on Monday.

Advocate Khandakar Mahbub Hossain moved for Mainul Hosein at the court.

Earlier on October 23, the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate sent barrister Mainul Hosein to jail after rejecting his bail petition in a defamation case.

Mainul, who is at the centre of a firestorm of criticism for verbally abusing a female journalist on air, was picked up from the residence of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD-Rab) President ASM Abdul Rab in the capital’s Uttara around 9:30 pm on October 22.
