HC stays trial of Fakhrul in 5 cases

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has stayed the trial proceedings of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in five sabotage cases filed with different police stations in the capital.

An HC bench of Justice Md Miftauddin Chowdhury and Justice Jafar Ahmed passed the order on Wednesday.

Advocate Joynul Abedin Tuhin and Advocate Sagir Hossain Lion moved for Fakhrul while Deputy Attorney General Sheikh KM Moniruzzaman Kabir represented the state during the hearing in the court.

Deputy Attorney General Sheikh KM Moniruzzaman Kabir told risingbd.com that an appeal against the HC order will be filed with the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
