HC summons Green Line MD for not paying compensation to Russell

Staff Correspondent: The High Court summoned the managing director (MD) of Green Line Paribahan to appear before it for not complying with its directive over paying compensation to the victim Russell Sarkar, who lost his leg after being hit by a Green Line bus in Dhaka.

The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order on Thursday.

Managing Director of the bus paribahan, will have to appear before the High Cour by 02:00am today to explain why his office has not paid the compensation.

Khandakar Shamsul Haque Reza moved for the petitioner while Advocare Md Aziullah stood for the Green Line Bus transport during the hearing.

Earlier on March 31, the Appellate Division upheld an order by the High Court to pay Tk 50 lakh to Russell Sarkar.
