Hajj registration time extended to April 23

Senior Correspondent: The government extended the deadline for this year’s Hajj registration to April 23.

Religion Ministry's public relations officer Mohammad Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter to media.

The decision was taken at a meeting between Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matiur Rahman and leaders of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) held at the minister’s Minto Road residence at 5:00pm on Monday.

Following the meeting, Haab President Ibrahim Bahar told risingbd.com that they are satisfied with the decision of the government over the issue.

This year, a total of 1, 17,758 people will register their names under private management for performing hajj in Saudi Arabia. Some 1,118 hajj agencies are working to reach the target.
