Hajj visa application deadline extended

Senior Correspondent: The deadline of visa application for the intending Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims has been extended to August 20 from August 17, hajj camp director said.

Bangladesh applied to Saudi Arabia for the extension of pre-hajj flight operation deadline to ensure journey of all pilgrims to perform the ritual, Ashkona Hajj Camp Director Saiful Islam confirmed.

“As the Saudi Arabia has apparently accepted the request, the pilgrims now can submit necessary documents to the Saudi hajj authorities to get visas till the extended deadline [August 20],” he added.

Some 7,000 pilgrims are yet to complete visa processing till yesterday, officials said.
