Hearing on writ seeking caretaker govt Sunday

Staff Correspondent: Hearing will be held on Sunday over the writ petition filed with the High Court (HC) seeking instructions to form a caretaker government in a new style after dissolving the parliament before 42 days of holding the general election.
The writ also sought a rule over the issue along with seeking a stay order of announcing schedule for the parliament election until the rule is dissolved.
Petitioner lawyer Yunus Ali Akand said the writ will be brought to the cause list of the HC for hearing on the day.
Hearing will be held at the bench of Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Ashraful Kamal.
Supreme Court (SC) Yunus Ali Akand filed the writ petition with the HC division concerned on October 2.
Law Ministry secretary, cabinet secretary and chief election commissioner (CEC) among seven were made defendants in the writ petition.
