Australia stretch lead to 72 runs

Sports Correspondent: Australia stretched their lead to 72 runs at the end of Day three of the Chittagong Test as Aussies managed to score 377 runs losing nine wickets in 118 overs on Wednesday.

The left-handed opener David Warner scored 123 off 237 deliveries before falling to Mustafizur Rahman as the visitors.

Cutter master Mustafizur Rahman and spin sensation Mehidy Hasan bagged three wickets each.

The third day play of the second Test began at 1.15pm at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, as heavy rain delayed starting the game.

On Tuesday, Australia scored 225 runs with loss of two wickets in 64 overs.

Though Bangladesh pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman struck early and sent Matt Renshaw for 4, Australian skipper Steven Smith and Warner built a solid partnership that helped the side to be steady.

Later, Spinner Taijul Islam bowled Smith for 58.

Two Aussie bowlers Steve O'Keefe, 8,  and Nathan Lyon, 0, will start the day four on Wednesday.

Earlier, Bangladesh scored 305 runs with loss of 10 wickets in 113.2 overs.
