Heavy vehicles requested to avoid Shimulia-Kathalbari route

Secretariat Correspondent: Ferry service on Shimulia-Kathalbari river route has been suspended due to lack of navigability.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) issued a press release in this regard on Sunday.

Heavy vehicles are requested to move in alternate directions as dredging on that route is underway due to unusual sediments in the river, the press release reads.

However, Ferry service with small vehicles is running on that route.
