Hefajat now demands removal of all statues

Senior Correspondent: The Hefajat-e Islam, a Chittagong-based Islamist group, has demanded removal of all statues set up across the country, following the removal of Lady Justice’s statue from Supreme Court (SC) premises.

They also wish long-life for Prime Mister Sheikh Hasina for removing the statue.

After Ju Jumu'ah prayer in a pre-procession rally held at Baitul Mokarram Mosque's northern gate, Mawlana Nur Hossain Quasemi, president of Dhaka Metropolitan Hefajat, said, "We thanked PM as she kept her promise removing the statue. We pray for her so that she always works for Islam."

He also demanded of removing all statues set up across the country.
