Highways to be kept in motion by any means: Minister

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: Urging people not be worried about the highway chaos, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the highways will be kept by any means during the Eid rush.

He said, "There was not seen severe traffic chaos anywhere across the country during the last Eid. The highways will also be kept in motion at any to cost for a hassle free journey during this Eid as well."

The Minister came up with the statement while visiting traffic congestion at Meghna Ghat toll area of the district's Sonargaon upazila on Thursday noon.

"Though temporary problems were happened at different points due to flood situation, the highways are in good condition," he added.

The Ministers, however, extortion at night is causing problems somewhere. The concerned people were given strict directions in this regard, the Awami League general secretary said.
