Hilsa fishing, sale banned for 22 days

Staff Correspondent: The government has imposed a ban on Hilsa fishing from 12:00am on Sunday.
The government imposed the ban on the catching, selling and transportation of Hilsa for 22 days from 1 October to 22.
The fisheries and livestock ministry issued an order in this regard on September 19.
There are also rules of punishment and fines for breaching the ban order.
Two years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Tk 5,000 will be the maximum punishment for the rule violators.
