Hindu Mahajote demands 50 reserved seats in parliament

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mahajote demanded 50 reserved seats in the Jatiya Sangsad and separate election system for ensuring their rights ahead of the 11th parliamentary polls.

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mahajote Govinda Chandra Pramanik came up with the announcement while addressing a press conference at National Press Club in the capital on Saturday.

He demanded separate ministry for the religious minority and an independent commission to investigate torturing incidents since 1972.

Meanwhile, president of the mahajote Advocate Dinabandhu Roy, Senior Vice President Dr Sonali Das, B B Goswami, Pradip Kumar Pal, Chief coordinator Bijay Bhattacharya and others attended the function.
