Hosts trail Tigers by 75 runs at end of Day-3

Sports Desk: Hosts Sri Lanka managed to score 54 without losing any wicket in 13 overs at the end of day-3 and trailed Bangladesh by 75 runs in their second innings in the second Test of the series at the P Sara Oval in Colombo Friday.

Sri Lankan openers Upul Tharanga and Dimuth Karunaratne were both 25 not out when the players left the field for the day.

Earlier, Tigers were bowled out for 467 in their first innings during the last session of day-3 and led Sri Lanka by 129 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan, who was the highest run-achiever during their first innings, scored 116 runs off 159 balls with 10 boundaries. Soumya Sarkar and skipper Mushfiqur scored 61 and 52 respectively.

Mosaddek Hossain on debut was the last man to be dismissed after making 75 as he was stumped by Niroshan Dickwella off the bowling of Rangana Herath.

Rangana Herath and Lakshan Sandakan took four wickets each among the Sri Lankan bowlers. Herath took 4-82 in 34.1 overs while Sandakan captured 4-140 in 33.
