Huge cache of arms, ammo recovered in N'ganj

Staff Correspondent: Police recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from sector-5 of Purbachal under Rupganj upazila in Narayanganj early Friday.

Sources said that the law enforcers conducted a drive in the area on Thursday midnight and recovered two rocket launchers, 63 rifles, ammunition and other explosives. Meanwhile, police also detained three people during the drive.

The raid was being continued till the filing of the report.

Narayanganj Additional police super Faruk Hossain told risingbd.com that police detained a youth named Sharif on May 29 with a Light Machine Gun (LMG). Later, following his information, police also detained two others and found the arms and ammunition following their information.  

Details will be disclosed later through press conference, he added.
