Husband among 2 to die for killing wife

Staff Correspondent: A court in Khulna on Thursday sentenced a husband and his associate to death for killing his wife in 2008.

Judge of 'Jananirapatta Bighnakari Aparadh Daman Tribunal' S M Solaiman handed down the verdict on Thursday.

The convicts are- Litu Mollah, 30 and his brother-in-law Majid Hawladar.

Public Prosecutor Arif Mahmud Liton said that the victim Rajia Sultana Dipa was heading towards her father's home with her husband on February 2, 2008 and went missing. Later, police recovered Dipa's body from Rupsha Bridge. On February 25, victim's father identified her checking photos of the body.

Later, Investigation Officer SI Mahfuz submitted the charge sheet accusing victim's husband on February 15, 2009.
