IU English dept forms human chain protesting attack on VC

IU Correspondent: The teachers and students of English department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday formed a human chain protesting attack on the university’s vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, also a teacher of the department.

The human chain was formed led by the departmental chairman Professor AHM Akhtarul Islam Zillu in front of art’s faculty building of the university around 11:00am.

Around one hundred teacher and students of the department including IU Pro-VC Professor Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Professor Dr M Mizanur Rahman, Professor Dr M Maher Ali, Professor Dr M Shahadat Hossain Azad, Associate Professor M Sabbir Ahmed and Assistant Professor Sazzad Zahid took part on the human chain.

While addressing the human chain, IU Pro-VC Professor M Shahinoor Rahman demanded capital punishment of the culprits who have attacked on the vice-chancellor so that none can do such heinous act in future.
