IU Law dept reunion held

H K Jibon from IU: The first reunion of Law and Muslim Jurisprudence department Alumni Association was held Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Thursday.

The incumbent and current students of the department brought out a colorful procession led by the departmental chairman from the university’s Mir Mossarraf Hossain faculty building around 11:30am.

Later, a discussion programme was held at the university Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium.

IU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari was present at the programme as the chief guest while Pro-VC Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha were present as special guests with the departmental chairman Prof Dr M Jahurul Islam in the chair.

Shakil Ahmed and Shahida Akter Asha student of the department jointly conducted the programme while Dean of Law and Shariyah faculty Professor Nurun Nahar, Alumni Association president, Muhammad Ali and its secretary KM Masud Rumi both the advocates of Supreme Court, were present as guests.

After the discussant programme, a cultural function was held at the university central auditorium.
