IU student missing for 4 days

H K Jibon from IU: A female student of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia has been missing for days.

The victim was identified as Smrity Khatun, 25, also a third year student of IU English Department, daughter of Anowar Hossain, a resident of village Mokumpur in Kushtia.

According to the family members, Smrity went missing after coming to the campus for attending her schedule class on Wednesday morning. Four days have been passed smrity did not return to her family.

Smrity’s father lodged a general diary with Islamic University police station in this regard, said IU police officer-in-charge Raton Sheikh. They were trying to find out Smrity, the OC added.

IU proctor Professor M Mahbubar Rahman said that the university authorities informed the matter to the law-enforcement agencies after getting a written complaint from the family members.
