If all parties join election, it'll be free, fair: CEC

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said, "If all the parties join an election, it'll be free and fair."

The CEC made the opinion while addressing a joint press conference after a meeting with foreign diplomats at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday.

He said, "This time it'll also be possible to conduct free and fair election if all the parties join it."

In reply to a question, Nurul Huda also said EC has specific laws to arrange fair elections but participation of all political parties is essential to arrange a fair election.

Some foreign diplomats led by UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh Robert Watkins, joined the meeting. The CEC and four election commissioners and EC Secretary were present.
