Illegal affairs result in Badda double murder

Staff Correspondent: The double murder of the capital's Badda was occurred as a sequel to extramarital affairs, police said.

Police arrested Shahin, lover of deceased's Jamil Sheikh's wife Arzina, from Khulna early Friday. He is being brought to Dhaka.

Shahin had extra marital affairs with deceased's Jamil Sheikh's wife Arzina, police claimed.

Kazi Wazed Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badda Police Station, confirmed the matter to risingbd.

He said, "Shahin was arrested from Mohammadnagar area under Khulna's Lobonchora Police Station. His wife Masuma Begum is being brought to Dhaka for interrogation into the matter."

In reply to a query, the OC said, "We doubted so from the very beginning of the investigation that Jamil Sheikh's wife had any illegal relation with someone."

Police said once Shahin was a sub-let tenant of Jamil Sheikh. Then, he locked into extramarital affairs with Arzina. Three to four others were also took part in the killing.

Deceased's relatives said there was not a good relationship between Jamil and Arzina. They had been frequently locking into altercations since their marriage.  Arzina used to talk with several people over mobile phone. They had also altercations over the matter. Arzina stayed two months with her mother at Savar before they shifted to the new residence.

However, Arzina claimed to police on Thursday night that muggers killed her husband and daughter. Even, they also raped her.

It may be mentioned that Jamil Sheikh, 41, and his daughter Nusrat, 9, were killed in their living room at Moynartek of Badda in the capital on Wednesday.
