In case of 3 emergency services: Dial 999

Secretariat Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that people can get three emergency services including fire service, ambulance and police service dialing 999 from November.

The minister made the disclosure while addressing a meeting at conference room of the ministry on Sunday.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said from now no one needed to dial separate numbers to get emergency service. Fire service, ambulance and police service will be available at emergency number 999.

He also said that people can get all emergency services dialing the number. That’s the main target of the project.

State Minister for ICT Division Junaid Ahmed Palak said ICT division was operating the 999 service experimentally from last year. About 33 lakh phone calls were received at that time.

Secretary of the Security Services Division of Ministry of Home Affairs Farid Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Haque, BGB, Coast Guards and other high officials attended the programme.
